𝐇𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐖𝐀𝐘 𝐒𝐀 𝐊𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐍 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞: 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐞, 𝐊𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐎𝐍𝐄

GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS:

1. Take photographs showcasing the colors, diversity, and grandeur of the Kadayawan Festival celebration—the events, places, performances, and colorful inanimate objects seen during or associated with the celebration. 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞: “𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐞, 𝐊𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐎𝐍𝐄.”

2The contest is OPEN to all residents of Davao City. Participants must submit proof of identification showing Davao City as their residence, such as, but not limited to: school ID, government-issued ID, Barangay Certification, proof of billing or any similar document reflecting their address. Failure to provide residence shall lead to participant’s disqualification.

𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐊𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝.

3.The competition is FREE. No registration fee is required.

4. TO ENTER, participants must submit photographs:

Created and taken using the best settings of their professional or non-professional photography cameras, smart phones, or tablets

8 x 12 inch landscape or portrait orientation taken from August 7–16, 2026 during the Kadayawan Festival 2026 in Davao City

5. All photo entries should be based on the Categories outlined below: (Image 2-3)

6.𝐓𝐎 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐘, 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐰𝐨 (𝟐) 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 (𝟑) 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲.

E.g. 2 Kasadya photos, 2 Kasikas photos, 2 Garbo sa Tribo, 2 Indak-Indak, or any number combinations of at least two (2) and maximum of three (3)

7. All entries can only be processed using global methods. Only cropping, minor burning, dodging and color correction are acceptable. Watermarks, borders, high dynamic range images (HDR), and stitched panorama are not allowed.

8. It shall be the participants’ responsibility to seek permission in the use of the images of all persons/entities who are recognizable in the photos.

9.The organizers of the competition do not assume any responsibility for any violation of intellectual property laws by any participant.

10. Submission of an entry signifies the acceptance of the rules and regulations of the contest. The City Government of Davao reserves the right to publish or display any entry (in whole or part), winning or non-winning, for promotional purposes, with due acknowledgement of the original owner of the photos. Such right to use is royalty-free and no payment is, or shall be due to the participant.

11.The Organizers reserve the right to amend the contest rules as it deems fit, without prior notice.

12.The decision of the judges is final. However, violation of any of the above-stated rules and/or non-compliance of the same shall be a ground for automatic disqualification.

SELECTION

13. A shortlist of photos will be pre-selected by the panel of judges prior to the Final and Actual Judging. This list will be posted on the Hulagway sa Davao page.

14.Participants with shortlisted photo entry/ies are required to submit a hardcopy of the photos.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:

Composition : 30%

Originality : 30%

Creativity : 30%

Relevance to the theme : 10%

16.PRIZES:

First Place : Php 40,000 cash prize plus trophy

Second Place : Php 30,000 cash prize plus trophy

Third Place : Php 20,000 cash prize plus trophy

Special Award : Php 15,000 cash prize plus trophy

12 Consolation Prizes (3 for every Category-Based)

Kasadya : Php 7,500 each plus certificate

Kasikas : Php 7,500 each plus certificate

Garbo sa Tribo : Php 7,500 each plus certificate

Indak-Indak ug Pamulak : Php 7,500 each plus certificate

18.SUBMISSION:

A. Participants are required to accomplish and submit the following:

-Duly accomplished Registration Form

-Scanned copy of Proof of residence

B. Photo entries (refer to item #6)

– Participants should submit their photos directly or through a google drive link to hulagwaycio@gmail.com. Please make sure to enable access to the viewer.

– Email Subject: 2026 Hulagway sa Kadayawan <space> Name of Participant (Hulagway sa Davao will only accept entries submitted via email and with complete details.)

– Every photo must have a file name in this format: [Category Name]-[Participant’s Full Name]-[Title of the Photo Entry] (E.g. Kasadya sa Kadayawan – Juana dela Cruz – Lulinghayaw)

19. DEADLINE OF SUBMISSION: AUGUST 18, 2026 (Tuesday)
