MUCH has been said about the famous, well-loved attractions in Davao City, like Eden Nature Park and Resort, Malagos Chocolate Museum, Philippine Eagle Center, Davao Crocodile Park, and Bemwa Farms, among others.

Yes, these abovementioned destinations undoubtedly deserve a revisit but for those tourists who are always on the look of what’s new, here’s a rundown of new places worthy of visit when in Davao:

Sonnen Berg Mountain View

Who doesn’t want to witness a sea of cloud? You need not have to take flights to Sagada in Mountain Province just to witness this eye candy. Just an hour and a half from the city proper, a new tourist destination just opened its doors to the public, the Sonnen Berg Mountain View situated at Sitio Crossing, Marilog District, Davao City.

This private house turned attraction offers an experience of adventure with nature. Apart from the mountain and sea of cloud view, the place also has a swimming pool for those who want to have a quick dip. This is open for day tour for P50 per person and also for overnight stay at P1,000 to P1,700 per night.

This is also a perfect place for those who are into chasing sunrise.

Upside Down House Museum

This new go-to tourist place is perfect for friends and families.

Located in Dacudao Avenue, Davao City (fronting the Department of Labor Employment office), the Upside Down House Museum is inspired by the famous KL Upside Down House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and it considered as the first upside down house-inspired museum in Mindanao.

For only P250, one can enjoy the feeling of being in an upside down world. Discounted rates are also available for children, particularly kids below 3.5 feet (P150 per kid) and persons with disability (PWD) and senior citizen (P200 per person). It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Boxed Up

If you are a food lover, you’ll like it here.

If you are looking for a one-stop-shop food center, Boxed Up is the place. Located at at Doña Vicenta Village, Davao City, the place houses dozens of stalls offering mouthwatering and delightful food offerings.

Boxed Up is a two-floor building featuring a shipping container architecture. It has a central dining area at the first floor and the second floor also has dining spaces on the balconies and the bridges.

Amiya’s Casitas and Villas

For those looking for a memorable staycation, Casitas and Villas of Amiya Resort Residences should be part of the list.

The Casitas and Villas are part of the Amiya’s Clubhouse Complex, which also features salt-chlorinated swimming pool, one of the largest pools in Mindanao that is open to the public.

The property’s casitas and villas were designed to accommodate guests and tourists alike for an overnight stay. It is surrounded by lush green trees and plants giving guests a breath of fresh air and a priceless serenity and bliss. Its elegant interior designs perfectly blend with nature.

It is composed of five Casitas perfectly made for couples at P4,500 per night and three Villas for families and barkadas at P7,000 per night, all inclusive with the free use of pool and breakfast. This new attraction is developed by Kisan Lu Lands and Development Incorporated.
