City To Close Some Roads For ‘Parada Dabawenyo’ Announcement !

THE Davao City government will temporarily close some roads in downtown areas on March 16, for Parada Dabawenyo, one of the highlights of the celebration of the 81st Araw ng Dabaw.


Vehicles will not be allowed to enter Roxas Avenue, where the parade will kick off, as well as C.M. Recto Avenue, Bonifacio Street, Iñigo Street and San Pedro Street.


Based on the report from the Davao City Information Office, motorists are advised to take the alternate routes in order to get to their destinations on occasion of the Parada. The road closure for the event is scheduled to start at 3 a.m. until 12 noon.


Those from north may use these alternate routes: J.P Laurel Avenue-  Quirino Avenue – McArthur Highway; J.P. Laurel Avenue. – R. Castillo St. – Garcia St. – Quezon Boulevar – McArthur Highway; J.P. Laurel Avenue. – Cabaguio – L. Garcia St. – Quezon Boulevard. – Quimpo Blvd. – McArthur Highway


Those from south may use: McArthur Highway – Quirino Avenue. – J.P. Laurel Avenue; McArthur Highway – Magallanes St. – Quezon Boulevard; McArthur Highway – Sandawa Road – Quimpo Boulevard; McArthur Highway – Quimpo Boulevard – Quezon Boulevard; McArthur Highway – C.P. Garcia Highway/Bangkal.

Those coming from Quezon Boulevard going to J.P. Laurel or Ponciano St. may take Quezon Boulevard, left turn to Jacinto St., right turn to J. Dela Cruz St.,  and left turn to Magsaysay Avenue.


Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office Chief Dionisio Abude said that about 230 CTTMO personnel will be deployed during the Parada Dabawenyo.


The parade’s route will begin at Roxas Avenue (Ateneo side), and to C.M. Recto then right turn to Bonifacio St. It will continue towards Pelayo St. and San Pedro St., until the endpoint, Rizal Park.
